Florida Medical Center announced today that ithas reached an agreement with CIGNA Corporation (NYSE: CI). 

Florida Medical Center is part of a national agreement entered into by its parent company, Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC). The new, multi-year agreement means that Florida Medical Center, its outpatient centers and employed physician practices will remain part of the CIGNA network. 

This will give people in the area who are covered by CIGNA continued access to the hospital and its services at their in-network benefit level.   

"We are pleased to renew our relationship with CIGNA," said Bob Haley, chief executive officer of Florida Medical Center.   "This agreement will allow our hospital to continue offering quality care to the members of the CIGNA network."

Florida Medical Center, part of Tenet's Miami-Dade/Broward Health Network, is a 459-bed acute care hospital founded in 1973 and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. 

Located at 5000 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale in western Broward County, Florida Medical Center offers a broad range of medical and surgical services.  These services include the Heart Institute of Florida, its center for cardiac services, designated a Premium Cardiac Specialty Center by UnitedHealthcare; 24-hour emergency services; and cancer care.
