Dr. Michael Zahalsky

Michael Zahalsky, MD, who specializes in male infertility and minimally invasive urological procedures, has joined the medical staff of Florida Medical Center.

Dr. Zahalsky comes to the hospital following a dual fellowship at Boston University and the Massachusetts Insitute of Technology.  He specializes in the following urological procedures: minimally invasive treatment of benign prosatic hyperplasia with an in-office procedure; minimally invasive approaches in kidney stone removal; minmimally invasive procedures for stress urinary incontinence in females; vasectomy reversal; and laparosopic kidyney removal.

Additionally, he has expertise in male and female sexual dysfunction and has researched the genetics of male infertiliy arising from the X-chromosome.

Dr. Zahalsky received his medical degree and M.M.S. in Epidemiology and Gerontology from Brown University.  He is board eligible by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association, Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, Society for Male Reproduction and Urology and the Endourological Society. 

He has published multiple chapters and articles in peer reviewed journals on his areas of expertise.  In addition, he has participated in numerous volunteer activities during his career, inclduing prostate cancer screenings, men's health education seminars in which he spoke to men about prostate and testicular cancer screening and erectile dusfunction, and adolescent health education projects to teach STD prevention.
