Psychiatry and Behaviorial Health treats adults with a variety of mental health concerns. We offer inpatient and outpatient care, a Psychiatric Emergency Room and a Dual Diagnosis Unit for those with substance abuse and a psychiatric diorder.
A team of psychiatrists, social workers, mental health counselors, psychiatric nurses and other professionals deliver quality care to meet patients individual needs. The department includes several units, each designed for patients with a specific problem. Each patient is referred to the appropriate unit following initial assessment and evaluation.
Inpatient Services
Our goal is to help restore the maximum amount of independence and functional capacity of each patient experiencing emotional distress. A skilled, dedicated staff cares for adults, with treatment tailored to their individual needs. The treatment team develops a treatment plan in conjunction with patient and family. Treatment options include individual, family and group therapies as well as activity and music therapy.Patients receive medication stabilization, discharge planning and are connected to necessary resources in the community upon discharge.
Dual Diagnosis Unit
Special treatment is available for those with substance abuse problems. This 20-bed unit especially for the patient with a Dual Diagnosis Disorder, a primary psychiatric disorder and a substance abuse issue at the same time.The treatment approach is taken from the clinically validated, internationally renowed "Living in Balance" program. Patients may enter and exit this program at any of the Steps. It is appropriate for all substances of use. The program includes an aftercare component crucial to relapse prevention, in an effort to guide the patient from a life of addiction to a life of recovery.
Outpatient Services
Partial Hospitalization
This hospital-based program offers a transitional level of care from inpatient acute care to community care. The goal is to decrease the need for hospitalization and to increase the potential for independent functioning. Patients participate from two to four days per week, with group therapy as the primary means of treatment.
Psychiatric Emergency Room
Our Emergency Department psychiatric professionals are dedicated to assisting those in need of mental health services. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the ER team assesses each patient's needs and helps find the most appropriate treatment, whether it is providing information, admission or referral.
